Eric James Riggle
Everywhere that Eric went he was loved for his giving heart, tender manner and big smile - family and friends will never forget the gentle, loving man that he had become.
Eric is survived by his mom and best friend, Shelly Riggle, of Everett; grandma, Dixie Riggle, of Granite Falls, WA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to list.
It was a short life, but Eric was happier than he'd ever been - all of his dreams were beginning to come true. His family was proud of him and will miss him forever.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Granite Falls Eagles, 402 N Granite Ave, Granite Falls, WA.
In lieu of flowers, Shelly requests that donations be made to the YMCA of Snohomish County, In memory of Eric Riggle, PO Box 419, Everett, WA 98206-0419.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

Eric-
I just heard the news of your passing and my heart is aching. Even though I haven't seen you since HS you still made the effort to stay in contact. The last time I heard from you, your life was on track and you were truly happy. I hope that follows you on in Heaven. Thanks for the good times and great memories! You will be missed!

I just found out that you passed in the most random of ways! I can not believe you are gone. You truly touched my heart and soul. You will live on forever in my heart and in my memories! I just wanted to let you know I miss you everyday, I think about you all the time, I hear you laugh everywhere I go, it's so wierd to know your not coming back, and that hurt's. Bryant and I have been watching your CD on your life, it's comforting to know that you are with me in spirit. Eric I just wanted to tell you how inspired I was by the amount of people who came out to spend time with us and who truly loved you.You are truly a Shining Star as one person stated who fell too soon. Thank you for all the support from all of Eric's family, friends and co-workers. To all that met and loved Eric, may you have wonderful memories and thoughts of him and keep in mind all the wonderful things that he stood for. Earache was and will always be a fond memory of our childhood together, where there was one of us there was always another. I thank you all who were able to attend the absolutley beautiful memorial. Uncle Rodger did a splendid job and wow it was heartfelt and nicely done. I love you all and thank you for the memories. Love Always Ralph, Jackie, Sammy and Riley.

Shelly my heart goes out to you and your family right now. You and Eric always expressed your love to each other, i know how special you were to him. I will always remember the time he took me to New Orleans that was such a wonderful time. Although i haven't spoken to him for four years we were just in recent contact, he was happy for me and my marriage and baby. That to me meant he was happy. My daughters Erica and Karla were Eric's friends. The first time he was a guest in our home, he didn't say much. But, that may have been because the twins dad was there. This is Erics' mom and his friends & family all need to know this. Eric knew that all of you were busy making your own grown-up lifes. He would not want any of you to waste energy regretting things that can't be changed. Just take that time and look around you and tell all the people that you love how much you love them. We talked about death and regret and guilt and he wouldn't want his friends to feel bad. He always made sure that he told me how much he loved me and I told him so that if one of us got hit by a bus, we'd know we were truly loved. Please tell the people in your life how much you love them and when you think of Eric, SMILE!!! He would want you to.

words are not enough to express the deepest sympathy I have for your loss...I can not imagine. When you shared your memories of him with me, they are so filled with such DEEP understanding, insight, and LOVE. Makes me think that is the biggest blessing of all to you, from Eric. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to write and there are no words to express how much I loved and will miss my first grandson. When he was born he looked to be about 3 months old. Such a big and beautiful baby boy. Having watied so long in my having a family to get a boy, made it more special. He grew into a fine looking man and even it it took him a little longer to find his special place, he always had a smile and I love you Grandma. Even when we didn't agree, we both knew there was love.
Like I told Shelly, there is no greater love in the world then a mother for a child, My loss is different then hers, but a great loss too. We will make it all together as a family and with Gods help.

I walked into Bayside one day awhile back. Here was this new guy and I am thinking this guy is perfect. He knew how to talk to people, he could multi-task and I don't know if he ever stopped smiling!
I, being the wife of a commercial fisherman, was REALLY thinking what a great deck hand this guy would be. But being friends with Todd and the family at Bayside, I thought I should wait a little while before I tried to snap him up to go to Alaska. And I would have asked him one of these days.
Now I am putting the pieces together of just who Eric was. We have known his aunts Rhonda and Happy for 30+ years and Brian Rose was a deck hand many years ago on our boat. Sometimes it is too late when you realize the connections we all have and didn't even know.
I especially want to send my sympathy to Mom. Take care of yourself.
He will be a happy memory to me forever.

Eric Riggle. There is just too much to say. Let me start off with you truely were a Beautiful person! My children loved playing with you! You were always so kind to them. I will never forget the BBQ we all had at my house, and you thought you could handle lighting the charcoal grill. Well you did indeed light the grill... but you singed the hair on your arm at the same time! haha! Anyways I guess what I am trying to say is you are pretty much unforgettable. Your blue eyes and bright smile. It was unfortanate you had to leave us soo early but thank you for being you. Eric was my bestfriend, and I loved him more than I can describe or express. I am fortunate enough to have had his love and unconditional friendship in return, and as a result formed a wonderful friendship with Shelley.
Eric had a huge heart and loved his family and friends very much; rejoice in that in this time of grief. It was nice to see him at a time in his life where he was happy and proud. I'm sad it was taken away so early but I know in my heart he is in a better place.
To the Riggle family, thank you for giving me the joy of spending last Sunday with you all, and my heart and prayers are with you. I thank you all for your support as well.
There are so many of us who loved Eric, and have broken hearts about his death. I will never forget the special relationship I had with Eric and he and his family will forever be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Eric, I am so sorry that I never took the time to actually message you back on myspace or give you a call when you left me a message. We always would run into each other around Everett, stop and say hello make sure that life was treating each other well. I will always have the good memories. Your life was way too short. Eric, you were such a sweet soul. Such a good friend and always giving. I will miss our random run-ins around Everett...always a hug, always a quick catch up session, always a heart felt smile.
