Glen Larson Obituary

Glen P. Larson

"The Swedish Fox"
June 23, 1920 – July 27, 2003

Local entertainer and musician Glen P. Larson passed away peacefully at his home Sunday July 27th at the age of 83.
Glen was a lifetime resident of the Seattle-Everett area and his passion was making people laugh all over the world. He served in the USO during World War II entertaining American troops here and abroad. He dedicated his life to strumming and singing the good old tunes while keeping us all in stitches and giving everyone a reason to laugh. Whether he was playing at Thorne's Showcase Lounge in Seward, Alaska, Discovery Bay Lodge, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Rosario Lodge, Jack's on Hewitt Ave., Green Lake's Little Red Hen in Seattle, or (his favorite) Taylor's Landing in Mukilteo he always provided his audience with a wonderful, sometimes very colorful retreat from their daily lives. Glen was a member of the Everett Elks Lodge, Redmen Lodge, VASA and Club 170. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he loved.
Glen was one of five children born to Swedish immigrant, Lars Edward Larson and his mail order Swedish bride, Melida Medin Larson. His parents, only sister, Goldie Beck and younger brother, Clyde Larson have preceded him in death.
Survived by Glen are his brothers Gordon of Seattle and Carl of Everett; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Linda Larson of Snohomish; his three daughters Glenda Singer and Cheryl Mehl of California and Theresa Larson of Everett; grandchildren Chad Larson of Everett, Jeremy and Gabriel Singer, and Angela and Alerec Mehl of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy in Everett followed by 1:00 p.m. graveside services at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood and a reception at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Larry and Linda Larson.
In lieu of flowers, Glen's family requests any donations be made to the Salvation Army.
