Phane, O'Bie, Dad, Opa, went to his heavenly home at the age of 92.
He was born in Everett, Washington to Edna and Raymond O'Brien on August 2, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Alan O'Brien, and his sister, Jane Squires Hart. He is survived by his brother, Terence O'Brien (Sherry), his sons and daughters, Danny O'Brien (Marsha), Janeen Smith (Dick), Shannon O'Brien (Steve), Robert O'Brien (Cheri), William O'Brien (Sandra), Erin O'Brien, many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, and his dear friend, Esther Crane.
Phane married his high school sweetheart, Marcella Pearson, and they raised their 6 children in the house that was built for them. After Phane and Marcella divorced he continued to live in the family home where special gatherings were enjoyed by all. Another special gathering place for the O'Brien family was on Whidbey Island where his grandparents homesteaded near Maxwelton.
He was proud to have worked for Allstate Insurance Company for over 50 years. In his retirement years he enjoyed dining in his favorite restaurants, playing poker with his buddies, and enjoying the view of the Cascade Mountains from his front porch.
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
Phane's family would be honored if anyone would like to remember him by donating to the charity of your choice, or to his favorite charity, American Parkinson Disease Association.

Phane was my fathers agent and mine until he retired, Phane and his partner Jack at Allstate put up with me during my obnoxious teen years and fortunately stuck with me as at 73 I am still with Allstate. RIP

TO YOU ALL! Big big hugs and love! Phane was the longest General Agent with Allstate, in the history of the company. As a young agent I was introduced to Phane to help him convert from our microfiche! He was very dear to me, like a 2nd father! It was a huge gift to work with him until he retired from the company. I have a lot of customers that inquire about him and have chatted with me about his loss. He was loved by many! I am with Allstate now 40 years and Phane was a huge part of my Allstate journey. BIG LOVE to you all! Melody

I've known phane for many years. We both worked for Allstate, phane was one of the early agents for Allstate. He was an amazing man, proud of his motorcycle and so well thought of by his many long time customers.
It has been my pleasure to call him my friend.
