Tom Lamoureux, born May 14, 1945 used up the last of his amazing 9 lives March 13, 2022. Since his early 30's he had been battling heart disease and continued to fight it off but after a very short battle with stage 4 melanoma cancer he left this earth to greet his friends and family in heaven. He was born in Illinois to Albert and Mary Lamoureux and was the oldest of 6 children. He was predeceased by his mother and father and five siblings, Joyce, John, Jim, Michael and Tim. After graduating from Oak Park-River Forest high school, he briefly attended Loyola University and then enlisted in the Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor where he met his wife, Barbara Long of Everett. They were married in Honolulu, and when the ship did a tour of Japan, Barb followed and they were able to tour Japan for a honeymoon.
He worked briefly in Hawaii but decided to move back to the mainland and get some more college in and the decision was to move to Everett rather than Chicago. Tom graduated from Everett Junior College where he immersed himself in the student government, the JC's, Chamber of Commerce, and claimed all of Barb's friends as his own. They welcomed their first son, Aaron, in 1972 and Christian in 1975. The following years were filled with more than 20 years of kid's pageants, soccer, little league, summers at Tyee Beach and soon grandkids, Delaney, Alex and Lily arrived. Life passed by quickly and health issues began taking their toll about retirement years. But, he wasn't done yet. In the spring of 2018, Tom got involved with the newly formed Marysville Pickleball Club which became a very much "senior" favorite sport. He was instrumental in getting Marysville tennis courts striped for Pickleball and elected to be an ambassador and spread the word. While his playing days were numbered, he was always a good organizer and focused on building the organization in Marysville. He was excited to learn that the state legislature has nominated Pickleball to be Washington's official state sport.
The Marysville Pickleball club honored Tom with the annual, Thomas Lamoureux Scholarship, for his dedication to supporting and spreading the word about Pickleball. He will be truly missed by not only his family but the community of friends he has made. The family is planning a celebration of life in May at Legion Park. More details to follow. If you would like to honor Tom, his wishes were that the Marysville Pickleball Club, a 501C(3) non-profit organization, would welcome donations. We loved Uncle Thom so much from our Chicagoland station. We loved getting to see and hear from him as much as we did. He, like the other Lamoureux siblings, were the most charismatic people we´ve ever known and will never forget them or their room-filling personalities. We love you Aunt Barb, Aaron, and Chris. We look forward to see you and wish you and your family the very best.

Paul Seely and Tom Lamoureux brought the Everett business community into the 21 century. Together while running the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce, they increased membership from 300 members to over 1,000. The ever popular monthly meeting they created called Everett AM was a smashing hit, attended by hundreds. Businesses flourished because of Toms passion and dedication to improving commerce. His true love of Everett and vision for the future has left a mark that made us all better. Gods Speed Tom.
