William John Winter, Jr. passed too soon on July 30, 2023. He was born in Bellingham, WA. to William John Winter, Sr. and Mildred Louise (King) Winter on June 11, 1949, followed by brother James Roy then sister Linda Jean. He graduated from Arlington High School as Valedictorian of his Senior Class of 1967. A dedicated student (perfect attendance grades 1 - 12) he got his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Washington, a Master's from Stanford University and a Doctorate from Texas A&M University before his 33rd birthday. He married his high school sweetheart Linda Castle. He dedicated his post graduate life volunteering for his Sigma Chi Fraternity at its International level and U of W's Upsilon Upsilon Chapter until his passing. As a Civil Engineer he specialized in waste water management for over 45 years. The first 32 at CH2M Hill rising to the level of Vice President/Regional Manager, then 16 years with URS/AECOM. He spent his early life playing baseball, football, basketball and track. Later in life he ran and played softball. His favorite quotes were: "God only gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers" unknown, and "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway" John Wayne.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Pioneer Hall, 20722-67th Ave. NE, Arlington on October 22nd from 1:00 - 4:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Association Evergreen Chapter.
