York, South Carolina - John Stanley Adkins, 80, of York, SC passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Health in Gastonia, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Gable officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
John was born on October 16, 1941 in Tampa, FL. He was the son of the late James Roy Adkins and Pauline Sewell Adkins. John was a graduate of Newberry College and was a member of the SC Association of CPA's, American Institute of CPA's, NC Association of CPA's, SC Association of Public Accountants. John was the past president of York Chamber of Commerce and past Deacon and Treasurer of Union Baptist Church in York, SC.
John is survived by his wife, Susan Brandon Adkins; daughter, Deborah Adkins Green (David), son, John Darby Adkins (Alysen Woodruff), stepson, Brandon St-Martin; sister, Dorothy A. McKnight, brother, Jack Adkins, grandchildren: Samantha Jane Green, David Brody Green (Cyeria), Tyler Scott Green, Emory Augustus Woodruff; and great grandchild, Wrenley Hope Green.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Smith Adkins and his brothers, Phillip Adkins, Roy D. "Blondie" Adkins, Reid Adkins, Stephen S. Adkins, and Gregory L. Adkins.
In memory of John S. Adkins, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
