Robert L. Zerbe

1937 - 2022

Robert L. Zerbe, 85, of Watervliet passed away on Dec. 22, 2022, at Caretel Inn in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial donations in Robert's memory may be made to Caring Circle of Corewell Lakeland Health in St. Joseph.

Robert was born on April 12, 1937, in Benton Harbor to Leonard and Lena (Schramm) Zerbe.

He graduated from Coloma High School in 1955 and then joined the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed working and was employed at New Products for 17 years, followed by Whirlpool from 1974 up until retirement in 2000.

Robert owned a motorcycle shop called Zerbe's Kawasaki in the 1970s and he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, boating, life on the lake, fishing, and especially going to the races at Hartford Speedway. He was also a very involved member at Trinity Lutheran Church and loved his weekly bible studies with friends at Blue Roof Church in St. Joseph.

Robert is survived by his children: William (Tamara) Zerbe of Covert, Mark (Janeen) Zerbe of St. Joseph and Melissa Zerbe of Watervliet; and his grandchildren: Mason Diehl, Manny Luna and Ross Zerbe.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
