Roosevelt Gladney Jr., affectionately called "G-Boy" by family and friends embraced the Lord's hand peacefully on Jan. 9, 2023.
He was born on March 29, 1949, in Humboldt, Tenn., to his parents: Roosevelt Gladney Sr., and Ella Mae Brown who both preceded him in death, and his wife, Judy Gladney.
A celebration of life services will be on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Beautiful Gate Baptist Church with visitation starting at 10 a.m. followed by services at 11 a.m. For those wishing to sign his guestbook, robbinsbrothersfh.com.
Roosevelt relocated to Benton Harbor in 1952, and attended Benton Harbor Area Schools.
He worked at Bosch Corp. for 38 years as a machine operator/forklift driver until he retired.
Roosevelt has gone home to be with his beloved wife, Judy Gladney, whom he loved and cherished.
He leaves his loving memories, his children: Carla (Robert) Johnson, Dorie Gladney; grandchildren: Ashley Davis, Robert "RJ" Johnson, and Zoe Ellis; sisters: Mary Louise Rimpson, Mattie Johnson, Virginia Miller, and Hortense Guest; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Sam) Word; brothers-in-law: Calvin Yates, Bobby Carruth, Luther Carruth, Reginald "Reggie" Carruth, Lamont Carruth; aunt, Annie Lenzie, uncle, Ernest Rimpson and Willie Richmond; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roosevelt Gladney Sr., and Ella Mae (Jack) Brown; sister, Mary Alice Gladney; sisters-in-law: Charlene Yates, Rosemary Yates, Roseann Carruth; and brothers-in-law: Cassell Yates and Kenny Carruth.
