Eleanor often said that the nicest thing to wake up to on a Saturday morning was the sound of a circular saw. It meant that somebody was working on their house. She advocated 'live and let live' and was remarkably open minded in her attitude toward people who might have seemed an odd match for a woman of her generation and her faith tradition.
