Alvin N. Rementer Sr.

Alvin Rementer Obituary

Alvin N. Rementer Sr., 78, North Port, died Jan. 12, 2006. He was born March 25, 1927, in Philadelphia and came to North Port 17 years ago from Langhorne, Pa. He was a steamfitter and a Navy veteran of World War II. He volunteered at Florida Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda, and was a member of Punta Gorda Elks 2606 and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Alvin Jr. of North Port; brothers Jack of Pennsylvania and Robert of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Punta Gorda Elks, 25538 Shore Drive. James A. McKee Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Florida Military Heritage Museum, 1200 W. Retta Esplanade, Suite B4, Punta Gorda, FL 33950; or to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
