Barbara Henwood Williams of Siesta Key passed away quietly at home on September 24, 2012, after a ten month illness.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey in 1934, Barbara attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts before moving to Montreal in 1957. She married her husband, Peter, in Georgeville, Quebec in 1982, and they moved to Siesta Key in that year.
Barbara was an incredible woman who made a great impression on all who met her. Generous, kind, and intelligent, approaching life with humor and optimism, she was graced with a special warmth of spirit that was unmistakable and uniquely her own.
She will be sorely missed by her husband, her 9 children and her niece, their spouses, her 12 grandchildren and her great-grandson, and her many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Boniface Episcopal Church on Sunday, October 14, at 2 PM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her honor, addressed to the Children's Guardian Fund, 1445 Second Street, Sarasota, Florida 34236-4905.
