Jesse Fulbright

Jesse J. Fulbright CONNELLY SPRINGS Jesse J. Fulbright, 84, of Connelly Springs, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at his residence, following a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 1, 1928, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Kellie Fulbright and Fennice Knox Fulbright. Jesse was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of Warlick's Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, especially raising fruit trees, and was a talented Bluegrass musician. He organized and played in both the Blue Ridge Partners Band and the South Mountain Bluegrass Band. Jesse is survived by his son, Martin Fulbright and wife, Tamara, of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Tate and Macy Fulbright; and brothers, Herman Fulbright and wife, Leta, of Drexel, Jerry Fulbright and wife, Arcola, of Hickory, Luey Fulbright and wife, Judy, of Connelly Springs, Danny Fulbright and wife, Gail, Mike Fulbright, and wife, Reba, all of Hildebran, and Ted Fulbright and wife, Doris, of Connelly Springs. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by siblings, Olen Fulbright and Betty Sue Fulbright. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Warlick's Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Murry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
