Betty Bond Obituary

Betty Jeanne Anderson Bond
November 29, 1924 - August 31, 2016
Betty Jeanne Anderson Bond, 91, passed away peacefully in South Jordan, Utah, on Aug. 31, 2016. She was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Lehi, Utah, to Carl Richard Anderson and Susie Bradley Anderson Hillier. After her father's death, her mother married John W. Hillier and they moved to Salt Lake City. She graduated from Granite High School. During World War II she worked as a secretary in the Headquarters of the Air Force in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
She married Willis L. Bond on Nov. 12, 1950, and then promptly moved to Texas where he served in the Army. They were transferred to San Francisco where Jeanne gave birth to a son, James, and later a daughter, Janice. After leaving the service, they moved back to Salt Lake City, and six years later to Logan where their son Mark was born. She spent many satisfying years in Logan raising her family and working alongside her husband in the family business.
She is survived by her three children: James Bond, Janice Lamborn, and Mark (Misty) Bond; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The grandchildren relished spending fun summers in Logan with Grandma.
Jeanne was known for her friendly smile, loving demeanor, and giving nature. She lifted all those around her with her kindness.
The family would like to express appreciation to the wonderful staff at Legacy Assisted Living in South Jordan for their loving care during Mom's stay there. We would also like to thank Dr. Fred Gottlieb and Aspire Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South) South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley on Monday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
Jeanne had a special place in her heart for the homeless and those down on their luck. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local homeless shelter like the Road Home, or the Rescue Mission, or to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com
Why do we mourn departing friends,
Or shake at death's alarms?
'Tis but the voice that Jesus sends
To call them to His arms.
