Mr. Sorge is a beloved part of my childhood. He was my teacher for seven years. He watched me grow and would sometimes reproachfully ask me why I was naughty now when I had been so sweet as a child! Haha! I always knew of his caring and compassion for me and my fellow students. He had a strong sense of doing the right thing for the right reason....a good man who understood loving others. This came through in his classroom and he made me a better person. His memory lives on as I often tell my children about him and together we play board games that Mr. Sorge and I played together. Herr Sorge, thank you and I love you.

Mr. Sorge was one of a kind. He taught our son in the gifted and talented program in 4th grade in Preston Idaho. Serge´s teacher Mrs. Bodily didn´t know what to do with him. She complained he could teach the class every subject, and it was cramping her style. Thus, Mr Sorge came to the rescue. Serge eventually graduated from USU, served a mission in Germany, finished his Masters at USU and his PhD from Penn State in Mathmatics.
We all can still have conversations of how dedicated Mr. Sorge was and I would not be surprised if he had dozens of PhD students all over the world.
Those descendants who are grandchildren and great grandchildren, follow his legacy of learning. Much love, Lynne Ballif

All my love to Martin´s family - I knew him as a colleague at Mayflower school in Santiago, Chile and remember him with great appreciation , he was kind, loyal, very human and a good teacher that is remembered by his students ( my daughters included) as a very good man .
