Ned Forrester Obituary

On Monday, June 22, 2009, Ned was reunited with his loving parents and sister. Ned was born June 24, 1950 to James Bowers and Marie Larsen Forrester in Logan, Utah. He spent his life in Smithfield, Utah, with the exception of a short stay in Logan. He was employed as a painter for USU, recently retiring after 34 years. Ned's first love was horse racing. He and his brother bought a horse together and it was love at first race. From that point on you could always find Ned at the track helping first his brother and then Jay Pitcher. Ned was an active part of the Skyline Cutter Association. He was also an avid Aggies basketball fan and could be found at the games cheering on his team. Ned was a serious season ticket holder. Never one to give in to his physical limitations, always independent, he faced many challenges in his life. Ned will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. He is survived by his brother, Jim Forrester, Smithfield; sister, Ann and Woody Palmer, Brigham City; sister, Linda and Bob Gardner, Bothell, Wash.; brother, Lynn and Barbara Forrester, Tooele; brother, Thad and Shirlee Forrester, Tooele; brother, David and Theresa Forrester, Smithfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Bowers and Marie Larsen Forrester and sister Judy (Larry) Palmer. Ned we miss you dearly. The family would like to thank Dr. Barton Avery and the Summit Clinic staff for their care and kindness, over the years. The family extends their gratitude to all friends and co-workers for their support and kindness over the years. Viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday June 28, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main Street, Smithfield, Utah, and Monday June 29, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment and graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Smithfield Cemetery in Smithfield, Utah. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com.

I remember this young man at the Cutter Races in Smithfield, every time there was a race. He was there to help any of the guys, even the ones he was in competition with. I'm sure he will be sorely missed by family, friends and the town of Smithfield.
When you hear the "thunder' it will be Ned racing in his new realm. Condolences to all who have lost this good "child of God" The family of former "Cutter Racer" Doug Fackrell.

I got to know Ned somewhat from working at USU. He was nice and liked to joke around. I find it a bit sad that he just gets retired and then dies. Too bad he couldn't have had more time to just relax, go fishing, or just do what he liked to do. I remember his brother Thad from my days working at DeLorean Mfg. My sympathy goes out to the family.
I liked Ned - he was a good guy.
Apparently my brother-in-law is one of
the pall bearers at his funeral. He was telling me about his association with Ned from cutter-racing and how he always liked him also.

My condolences,
Brenda Demler

I always admired Ned and will always have a special place in my heart for this man. He was the kind of guy one could depend on for anything - the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. I will truly miss you, Ned. Happy that you are in a better place.

Well Nedder, Stoney and me will miss your laughter and the teasing about being a "Stud Mffin". I hope you are pain free for the first time in many years. We love you like a brother Ned, may God always take care of you. Stoney and Linda Burt
