Robert Nykamp Obituary
Rev. Robert ""Bob"" Nykamp, age 85, of Holland, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018.
During his career, Bob taught at Western Seminary, was a Chaplain at Pine Rest, and pastored at Ross Reformed Church in Gary, IN; Hope Reformed Church in Chicago, IL; and Bayshore Gardens Reformed Church in Bradenton, FL. Robert was a member of Christ Memorial Church where he served as a family counselor during his retirement.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Ross, and his daughter, Beth.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Erma (Deters) Nykamp; son, Randy and Sharon Nykamp of Huntsville, AL; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ross (Cyndi) Nykamp of Holland; grandchildren, Keith and Dawn Nykamp, Dirk and Heather Nykamp, Nick and Jen Nykamp, Caleb and Rita Nykamp, Lydia and Josh Gillett, Elijah Nykamp; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Bussis of Zeeland, Berne and Shari Nykamp of Hamilton; brother-in-law, Orvin and Thelma Deters of Hamilton.
A memorial service to honor Robert's life and faith is planned for 1:30pm on Wednesday, October 17, in the Sanctuary at Christ Memorial Church, (Entrances C & D). Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, October 16, also at the church (Entrances D & E) and from 12:00-1:00pm on Wednesday prior to the service (Entrances C & D). Contributions may be made to Christ Memorial Church and Wings Home of Allegan. Arrangements are by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, www.langelandsterenberg.com.
