Reading-the infinite receipt of unending knowledge. This is the gift Mrs. Coleman gave to me-she taught me how to read. I remember many years later watching her sing praises to God in the Windsor Village choir. I remember her telling me to always strive for an education. Not any one of these memories are to be taken lightly. She taught me to be literate, she showed me an example of a Christian woman who had endured many trials and still remained victorious, and lastly-she is one of the reasons I am a teacher today (a reading teacher). I will never take for granted her warm voice, her even warmer heart and her unforgetful smile. Mrs. Coleman, I was graced with your prescence that will last me a liftime. I am glad to know that the angels truly rejoiced when you entered the gates to be with the Most High-and I am sure that Jesus has said to you, "Well done, my good and faithful servant". So, In this time may we find a moment to rejoice that she has found a restful, peaceful and joyous new home-the heavenly kingdom of God.

Frank,

My continuous prayers go out to the Coleman family. I am very proud to have been one of the several hundreds, no doubt, of souls that Mrs. Coleman has touched in a special way. Her life, in itself, is a legacy and her fight is a further inspiration to all.

To the Coleman and Davis Families:

Words cannot express the love and admiration in my heart for all of the blessings I have received from your family being a part of my life. My first memories of primary education are going to the library as a kindergartener with Mrs. Coleman's first grade class - she could comfort any fear, warm any heart, inspire any child.

Krista has always been a wonderful friend and classmate - she exemplifies the beauty, charisma and strength of her mother in everything she does.

My heart is saddened, but rejoicing in the fact that Mrs. Coleman is now at peace and at home with Him. The Mitchell Family wishes you the comfort of His love as you cherish the memory of your mother, wife, and daughter.

I came to know Mrs. Coleman because she was 'Krista's Mom' when I was in high school. As an adult, she became a personal friend of my family. As an educator myself, I could count on her for a straight, no-holds barred professional opinion. She helped me with parenting advice and encouraged me when my own daughter first started school and I was nervous about it. Jeff, the girls and I were always welcomed both on her sofa and at her table.

I will miss her immensely as will my oldest daughter Koya and my husband Jeff. We fully expect to see her again, but for now, we are sad that our chit-chats will be no more.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family. I was fortunate to meet Amy in 1993 when I came to Fort Bend to apply for a job (which she helped me get). She was a dynamic, friendly person and had a wonderful spirit. I am truly grateful to have known her. May God Bless and Keep you.

I was so saddened to hear of Amy's passing. She is the reason I am the person I am today. She recruited me to move from Michigan to Texas to teach for the Ft. Bend schools. It changed my life. I always tell my husband he has Amy to thank (or blame!) that we met as he is a native Texan. I accompanied her on many trips back to Michigan to recruit more teachers and loved every minute of it. She spent time with my family over the years and we are all sad with this news. I know Amy is in God's presence now and smiling down on all the people she touched. Her service today inspired all who attended. Coleman and Davis family, please know that Amy touched everyone she met. She is missed but our memories live on.

I met Amy when I enrolled my now 31 year old son in BriarGate Elem. School. Only to find out that in Kilgore, Texas where I grew up, an elderly lady in our church known to all of us as Aunt Margie and Percy Greer's grandmother, was also Amy's grandmother. Once I knew that and realized that I had probably seen and played with Amy during her summer breaks, we had an instant bond. She helped me get the job with FortBend and remained very special to me. Ironically, we found ourselves attending the same church. We didn't visit, but spent much time talking when we did see each other. For everyone who knew Amy, knew she was a very "real" good-hearted, good-natured person. (Just as I knew and loved her grandmother to be.)

Amy and I were Choir members in the Gospel Company of The Windsor Village UMC, and I must say that she was one of the greatest to know. Her loving and caring spirit will always be in my heart.

Amy Coleman was a colleague of mine and friend to my family for the past 30 years. She was a teacher and principal at Briargate Elementary when my sister and brother attended school there. I have worked in FBISD for 25 years and have always been inspired by Amy to live up to her standards of what an educator is. There was never a person whom she met that she did not recall your name and was always so kind to ask about your family and how everyone was. In her calm, quiet manner she could always see the silver lining in every cloud and with her perfect posture and beautiful smile would tackle any problem. Gal. 5:22-23 describes Amy ...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Amy touched and changed so many people's lives. I know she now flys with angels, and is educating souls in heaven. You are missed here on earth.

Amy will be greatly missed. I knew her as a choir member, neighbor and a special friend. Amy was a great person, witty and wise with a big heart. To her family, the memories will sustain you long after the pain is gone.

I Thessalonians 13-18: Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.

Amy, as your oldest friend (since the womb) as we so jokingly always said, I was so glad that you waited until I got to tell you good-bye. However, this has been a most difficult time for me because I knew you longer than anyone else and now you are gone. Of course, I KNOW you will be bossing everyone else in heaven -- so go ahead

So saddened by the death of a great lady! Mrs. Coleman was a part of my life but for a short while. I met her while teaching at Goodman Elementary school. In that time, I found her to be a warm and caring person. We became instant friends. As it turns out, she already knew my family. My husband, Ralph Kelley was the PTO President at one of her schools. They were already friends from a long time ago. My family and I will certainly miss her. We wish the family well. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I have fond memories of Amy. She was a devout soprano in the Gospel Company at Windsor Village for years. She was also a dedicated educator/administrator in Ft. Bend ISD. She possessed a caring spirit. She was always complimentary. Her son and daughter were always pleasant when I saw them. She has fought a good fight. She placed her trust in God for she knew that He would not fail her. Thanks for coming this way Amy.
