Charlene Ridings Obituary
1959-2016
Charlene Ruth Ridings unexpectedly died in her home on August 1, 2016 in Lakewood, Colorado. She was 56.
Charlene is survived by her children, Charlton Ridings of Lakewood, Colorado, Christian Ridings of Durango, Colorado; and her grandchild Kayla Dean Ridings of Lakewood , Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Craig S. Ridings of Lakewood, Colorado and her father Charles J. Howard of Houston, Texas.
Charlene was born on November 1st, 1959 in Galveston, Texas to her parents, Dr. Charles J. and Catherine L. Howard. She graduated from Klein High School in 1977. Charlene went on to study at Stephan F. Austin University and earned a Bachelor in Business Administration in 1981. She meet her Husband Craig S. Ridings in Houston Texas and they were married on August 17, 1985 and moved to Colorado. Together they began a rental car agency for the Eagle Vail Valley; and later partnered and operated one of the first casinos in Blackhawk, Colorado. Charlene was a devoted wife and mother. Who gave loving care and support to Craig as he battled Multiple Sclerosis. After Craig's death, Charlene devoted her time and energy to her sons and granddaughter. She will be remembered as a one that loved wholly, gave of herself generously and laughed often. Her smile will forever live in our hearts.
Charlene was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am August 8th 2016 at Klein Funeral Home located at 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Klein, TX 77379 (281) 320 2674

I am heartbroken & shocked at this unexpected sad news. Charlene & I met the 1st day of high school & were best friends all through high school, college & beyond. We were inseparable for most of those years & I have the fondest memories of times spent at the Howard house. Char & I were roommates in college & after graduation until her marriage to Craig. After they moved to Colorado, I regret I could not be with her very often & missed her terribly but we did have some wonderful vacations together. Char was beautiful, caring, sweet, generous, thoughtful, funny, fun to be with & simply adorable. I loved her like a sister & felt that the entire Howard family & Craig were like family to me, an affection that was not diminished by time or separation. I will never forget Char. I share in overwhelming grief & deepest sympathy to all who knew & loved our dear sweet Char. Love, Judy

The Denney family has you all in our prayers. We hold on to fond memories of Char and Craig as we got to know the family at Rooney Ranch Elementary and through high school. We are so sad to hear of Char's passing. We have many memories of trips and spending time with Char, Craig and the boys. She was such a giving person to everyone, she will be dearly missed!

I'm thankful that Char came into my life so many years ago, during our romping days. Thanks to her and another friend they introduced me to my husband Lewis and we just hit our 30 wedding anniversary together. I know she will be surely missed by her sons, family and friends. Prayers for all those who have and do love her.
