Donald Smith Obituary

DONALD EUGENE SMITH, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 in Houston, Texas. Don was born on September 18, 1934 in Arcadia, Ohio to Clyde Verlin and Evangeline Smith. He served his country with the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Don attended Ohio State University on the GI Bill, graduating to become a high school teacher and later a professor at a Technical College in the early 1960's. He received his MBA from George Washington University. He began his career in the aerospace industry during the mid 1960's as an engineer and later in management positions culminating as Vice President of AlliedSignal Aerospace, Houston Operations. After retirement from AlliedSignal he continued working at Lockheed Martin and later as a consultant on various projects.      Don was preceded in death by his wife, Ieada Smith. Don is survived by his mother, Evangeline Smith, daughter Meg Chisolm and husband Richard, sons, Michael Smith, and Mark Smith and wife Tanya, brother, Stan Smith. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Donald and Christina Smith, Jasper Chisolm and Natasha Powell.      Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2003 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 12, 2003 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 East Medical Center Blvd, Webster. Private graveside service will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Webster with Reverend Nancy Goodwin officating.
