Dora Shaver Obituary

DORA HESTER SHAVER died peacefully on March 20, 2002 at the age of 90. She was raised a Mormon. She was orphaned at an early age and moved to Chicago, Illinois at age 15. She was a dynamic, independent and modern woman for the times. She went to work at 15 and continued to work for Southwestern Bell for the next 37 years. In 1935 she married the love of her life, Lee Hester and had three children. After losing her love in 1950, her strong will and courage brought her and her two children to Texas where she dedicated the rest of her life to her daughter Karen and her three children whom she loved more than life itself. In her life, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, accomplished seamstress, gourmet cook, expert bowler, animal advocate and a dearly loved woman. Her daughter Karen, and her three grandchildren were so fortunate to have her love and they will miss her dearly. They are comforted in knowing she is now joined by her love, Lee, and her beautiful son Wayne whom she lost too early. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the S.P.C.A.
