JOE TOM JOHNSON, 95, departed this life on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Ruth Johnson; and son, Gerald "Jerry" Johnson. He is survived by: daughter, Patricia Gray and husband, Bill; son, Larry Johnson; grandson, Clif Cobb and wife, Jennifer; grandson, Scott Cobb and wife, Diva; grandson, Tommy Gray and wife, Brandy; great grandsons, Chase and Joshua Cobb. Joe was born in Winnsboro, TX and as a child moved with his family to Dallas. Joe was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps and stationed in India. After settling in Houston after the war, Joe married Allie in 1949 and together began a family. Joe had a long career in Houston retail and retired from Foley's in 1985 after 26 years in men's suits at the Downtown and Sharpstown stores. Joe was an avid reader, a sports watcher, enjoyed walking to stay fit and was known to have a green thumb. Joe will now join Allie whom we lost in April 2008. Visitation will be held on Friday November 21, 2008 from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Forest a Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 12pm in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
