Dear Jane & Family,

While we did not know you well I became acquainted with Melvin most likely at Allen Jr. high in Austin. Out of the seven of us who graduated from Austin High, Class of '53 and Texas A&M, Class of '57, only three survive, John Voss, Rob Williamson and I. We wish you God's comfort and peace.

Mel: What a crazy wonderful ride we had with all the projects we shared. With your numerous talents and extensive knowledge you enabled us to be at the top of our industry. Your creative mind was like a sparkler going off, each spark a new idea. It was all we could do to keep up. We will miss you and all that energy. The Pearly Gates are about to be stainless steel and embossed glass regardless of any objections from those eternal rulers. Multiple plans are surely completed and drawn in colored sketches on scraps of paper.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family

Mel
You taught me so much about glass and curtain wall. I hope heaven has a good supply of little colored markers.
