John Callender Obituary

JOHN RANDALL (RANDY) CALLENDER, 58, of Katy, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2003 in a local hospital. Randy was an Honorary Chapter Farmer of the Katy F.F.A., a member of the Katy A&M Club, the Katy Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, and the Austin's Old 300 Club. Randy was a longtime hunter and fisherman. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his parents John F. (Dude) & Thelma Callender of Katy; sister Connie Lindsay and husband Col. G.C. Lindsay of Boerne, TX; brother Mayor Doyle Callender and wife Kay of Katy; niece Cambrey Lindsay of Kyle, TX; and nephews Kyle Callender of Houston, and John Callender of Houston. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, in Katy, with Rev. D. Nick Sholars and Rev. Marlin Fenn officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Rosenberg. Those wishing to make memorial gifts may do so to the scholarship funds of the Katy A&M Club or the Katy F.F.A., c/o Schmidt Funeral Home.
