John Gilliam Obituary
John attended Berachah Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Catherine Gilliam and brother, Winsted Gilliam. Survived by his children, John Malcolm Gilliam, Gene Gilliam, Cathy Jones and husband, David; daughters-in-law, Linda and Norma Gilliam; grandchildren, John Marcus Gilliam and wife, Sara, Lindsay , Stephanie and Natalie Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Jace and Lilly Gilliam; devoted niece, Donna Malcolm and brother, Jack Glen Gilliam.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2014 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday in the Waltrip Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

Didn't know Mr.Gilliam that well, did meet him on several occasions. But I do know his children and I know he did a great job on raising them. The times I did spend with Mr. Gilliam I found him to be a kind, intelligent and positive person. May he rest in peace.

Mr Gilliam was always an inspiration to me as a young kid. Always seemed tough and rugged but had a kind and loving spirit. Enjoyed life and people and would do anything for you. He was a rock and cornerstone in my young life. A true man of God. My heart aches.

I will always remember your dad visiting the guys at the cookware office all pumped up after a good work out. He brought a positive attitude and had a motivational spirit.
