John Calvin Hunter was born on the 9th of April 1928, in Columbia, Tennessee, and passed peacefully entering the realm of Glory on Friday, the 1st of December 2023. He was 95 years of age.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until six o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 6th of December, in the drawing room of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A Memorial Service celebrating John's life is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 7th of December, at Bering Drive Church of Christ, 1910 Bering Drive in Houston. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting John's online memorial tribute at GeoHLewis.com and selecting the "Join Livestream" icon in the "Services" section.
In lieu of customary remembrance, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Hospitality Apartments, 7300 Bertner St., Houston, TX, 77030, hospitalityapartments.org or to Bering Drive Church of Christ, 1910 Bering Dr., Houston, TX, 77057 http://beringfamily.org

We have known Mr. Hunter for many years as we had family members in common. He and his late wife Frances were truly kind people who set an example of Christian charity, caring, and commitment for their family and all who knew them. While they will be deeply missed, it is comforting to know that they are now reunited for all eternity.
