Philip Viola Obituary

PHILIP JAMES VIOLA, age 86, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 6, 2008. He was much loved as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marjorie Caywood Viola, their son, Jay Viola and his wife, Stefanie and his grandson, Scott Viola. He is also survived by Helen Viola, the wife of his late brother Frank Viola and dozens of beautiful nieces and nephews all so dear to him. Born July 17, 1921 in Houston, Texas he proudly served his country in the South Pacific during World War II after graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School. Mr. Viola retired from Harrison Equipment Company in 1991 after 50 years of dedicated service. P.J. will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor and a generous and caring heart. He will be greatly missed. Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation at their home from 2pm-5pm on Saturday, February 9th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude a donation to the Houston Hospice, the Houston Junior Forum Endowment Fund (P.O. Box 130502, Houston TX 77219) or the charity of your choice in his memory. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Houston Hospice for their care during the past year.
