Seyed Emami Obituary

SEYED AHMAD ALI ("AL") EMAMI, 39, of Katy Tx passed away on the morning of September 29, 2006 in ICU at Twelve Oaks Medical Center in Houston Tx due to complications following surgery on August 29. Born March 21, 1967 in Tehran Iran to Abolfaz Emami and the late Fereshteh Samii, Al had only recently become a United States citizen on August 30, 2005. He had come to America as a teenager where he graduated from Coronado High School in Coronado CA, and later from Texas Southern University in Houston Tx. Fortunately for all that were to come to know and love him, Al chose to follow his culinary passion after training with and working alongside his uncle Hedayat ("Edi") Emami, owner of Cafe Edi, during his school years. Further training was received at the Culinary Institute of America outside of San Francisco. As Food Service Director and Catering Chef for Aramark (and previously with Sodexho) at ExxonMobil Chemical Company headquarters in Houston, Al's passion for his profession and his customers was legendary. His love and compassion for his family and large circle of friends knew no bounds. Although his life was shortened too quickly for us to bear, we have been blessed immeasurably to have known him, worked with him, and above all else, to have loved and been loved by him. We are only consoled in knowing that Al is now wrapped in the loving arms of his God, reunited with his beautiful Mother whom he adored. He leaves behind his father, stepmother, two brothers, four uncles and two aunts, many cousins and other relatives around the world, a multitude of grateful friends, and his adoring girlfriend of five years, Robin Logan. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 on Thursday evening, October 5, 2006 at Memorial oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery at 13001 Katy Freeway. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks, with graveside interment to follow, also at Memorial Oaks. In lieu of flowers, you may choose to make a donation to your favorite charity in Al's name in honor of the many gifts he gave to all of us. Acknowledgements may be sent to the Enami household at 20911 Park Brush Court, Katy TX 77450. Al's friend, the Reverend Howard Caesar, from his beloved Unity Church family will officiate. Please join us in saying goodbye and showing our love to "our Al" and to celebrate his extraordinary life.

We've all heard the old cliche'
"Everyone Is Replaceable". Not so in Al's case.

You can't replace:

*The beautiful, black glistening eyes and the huge smile that lit up a room whenever he walked in.
*The person who thought of other people first and put their interests before his.
*The person who treated everyone, no matter who they were, or what stature in life they were, with the most dignity, understanding and respect
*The person who dearly valued his friendship and loyalty, as we did of him.
*The person who deeply loved and revered his dear Robin and family.
*The person who had an extra special place in his great big heart for his staff and friends at Exxon and Unity
*The man that touched more lives and positively influenced them.
*The man that was so passionate about life and cherished it and shared it
*The man that got more joy in life when he went out of his way to please everyone he met.
*The man that cared so much about his profession and gave back even more
*The man that took so much joy in seeing his loyal staff succeed.
*The man who accomplished so much in so little time - more than most people twice his age.

Even if you could, there's no one who would want to - After all, there was only one Mr. Al!

And we thank you Lord for sharing Al with us, even if it was such a short period of time. We were truly blessed.

Al, I will miss you dearly. Everyday when I walked into the Lakeside Cafe, you always spoke to me and made sure that everything was ok not only for the food but life in general. You will be missed by everyone's life you touched. I will always remember you.I pray that God will bless both your family and Robin. I know that you are in a better place.

Al:
You inspired us, uplifted us, connected us, and gave us a great sense of accomplishment when each event was completed and we looked good. Down deep we knew it was you. "Ok Missy, I can do that for you." I always worried that you would forget some special request but you had your palm pilot (you would write yourself notes on your hand) and you never let anything slip through the cracks. Your attention to detail, the funny way you told humorous stories about yourself and the way you could laugh made us all happy to know you. You defined who you were with those magnificent creations. You loved us....what more could we have wanted? You will be forever in our hearts and minds. You enriched us because you cared.....thanks, Al!.

My thoughts and prayers are with Robin and all of Al's family.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Although a few years have passed since I last saw him or sampled his wonderful creations, I can still vividly “see” Al scurrying around an event table, adding his last-minute touches to make everything perfect. “Miss Marilyn, I make this for you,” he’d say - then step back and flash that delightful little smile, so full of joy and passion for what he’d produced. Al’s impact was tremendous; he nurtured us with his warmth, his talents and his kindness. It was a privilege to know such an honorable man as “Mr. Al.”

To Ms. Logan and the Emami family, my heartfelt sympathies are with you at this very sad time.

Al - what a blessing it was to have seen you personally at Greenspoint during one of our safety meetings. No one could have outdone your "food safety" presentation. You did an outstanding job. And you blessed us with the gift of breakfast and "prize" giveaways as well. ** My heart goes out to Robin, your family, and friends as they have lost a precious one. But we rejoice in knowing that we shall have a wonderful reunion in Heaven one day. Til then may our LORD shower your loved ones with His Perfect Peace and may He carry them in His Strength.

Al,it's hard to imagine our lives without you in it. Your beautiful smiling face, dancing eyes and the compassion that you always had towards others are the memories we will carry of you in our hearts. Your precious time that you always took to help friends in need will not go unrewarded. Al lived his life with dignity and the uniqueness of who he was. God truly created Al with all his special gifts and talents and now God calls Al home to start his new eternal life. Al leaves the world a better place and in knowing Al we can strive to be better people by following in his example of living "the good life" as he would always say. We will never forget Al and he will remain in our thoughts and prayers till that glorious day when we see our good friend, Al again.
