I've known Todd since about the 6th grade. We remained friends through high school. The last time I talked to him was back in 1995. He was always a dear friend and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kirk family.

I remember when I first saw Todd. He rang our doorbell one day and when we opened the door, there he stood looking for his little lost dog. That was the beginning of a friendship. Let this be a reminder to not wait to say kind things, and open our hearts to those we love before it's too late.

I have known Todd throughout elementary, jr. high and high school. Even though I have only seen him three times since graduation, I feel like I got to know and be friends with Todd throughout the best years of his life. What I remember most about Todd is his kind heart and sweet smile. I truley cannot remember one time that Todd was ever mean, rude or hateful to me in all of those years growing up. Even when I saw him a year ago, he hugged me and we visited like we were still in school. My heart reaches out to his family and children. I pray that the good memories will come to them in their time of sorrow.

God Bless,

Heather (Dollins) Metzgar

My Journey

My life was like a journey down a long and winding road.

My path unique, with twist and turns no other feet had strode.

I shared my road with many as I walked from day to day,

Sharing treasured moments as we walked along life's way.

And then, one day I saw my road was coming to an end.

Because the road was rough, I leaned on family and friends.

They helped to carry me along; We knew the end was near.

And though our hearts were often sad, our faith dispelled our fear.

I reached the end and there I saw a gate flung open wide.

And when I looked beyond the gate, Jesus stood inside.

He took my hand and walked me through.

"Well done! Just look and see!

Your rewards are all around you. They're yours for eternity!"

The gate then closed with me inside and you still looking through.

And then you had to walk away.

God still has work for you.

For He designed your road ahead. Let His truth be your guide.

And at your gate, Jesus and I will welcome you inside.

We will meet again.

Because of Christ,

Shanda Kiraly (Kirk)

Todd was one of the most important people from my childhood. I am deeply sorry for his death, and through my love for him I'd like to pass prayers and hopes of comfort and healing to his wife and children and the rest of his family. I remember when he showed up for his first day at Katy Elementary School wearing black and white checked Vans. It was love at first sight. Since he was a beautiful, mischevious boy I had A LOT of competition for his affections. But at the elementary school's haunted house he chose me to walk through the darkened gym with, holding hands. It was thrilling. My mother was behind us the whole time, and I just knew I was going to get into trouble, but I didn't care. Later, Todd was like a brother: a friend steady in both his teasing and his affection. I know he will be missed, deeply. When I knew him he was a friend to everyone and made our world happier and more fun just by his presence. I'm glad we were friends, Todd. You will always be part of my life.

Love,

Summer

I just wanted to say that I love Todd Kirk. Todd was more than a friend, he was like a brother. We laughed together...we cried together...we fought together. I just want everyone to remember how much he made us laugh and smile...for me, that was a lot! His wife, kids , and family know how much I love them, but what makes me most proud is that Todd KNOWS how much I love him & his family. I will always love you, Todd.

God Bless You All!
