Mildred Schneider Obituary
Mildred Katherine Schneider, age 92, of 235 West Calumet Street, Appleton, WI, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011,with her family around her, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton, WI. with Msgr. Wayne A. Ressler officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18th, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI. Brettschneider Trettin- Lederer Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 606 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, WI. in charge of arrangements.
She was born August 28, 1918, in Worthington, Iowa daughter of John and Margaret Bertling Ressler. Mildred "Millie" married Raymond Louis Schneider, July 23, 1935 at St. John's Catholic Church, in Independence, Iowa. Raymond died Oct. 9, 1957.
She was a career Licensed Practical Nurse retiring in 1991. Millie was a loving wife, and a wonderful sister. Her best talent of all was being a fantastic mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Appleton, WI and was a Secular Franciscan.
Millie loved music and could play piano and the harmonica totally by ear. She was the author of many beautiful poems and loved to tell stories.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Schneider, who made her home with Mildred in Appleton, WI, and Joyce (John) Protz, of Port Charlotte, Fl; 7 sons, John (Patricia) Schneider, of Bettendorf, IA, James (Sharon) Schneider, of Dubuque, IA, Benedict (Nancy) Schneider, of Oshkosh, WI; Dr. Raymond (Joan) Schneider II, of Green Bay, WI, Paul (Marlene) Schneider, of Kaukauna, WI, Joseph Schneider, of Poy Sippi, WI, and Daniel (Lisa) Schneider, of Iola, WI; 29 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ressler, of Epworth, IA and Marian (Joseph) Holl, of Ryan, Ia.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Monte Alverno Retreat Center, 1000 N. Ballard Road, Appleton, WI 54911.
