They had two children, born in 1963 and 1966.
Jim developed an interest in personnel work and moved to management positions at Transamerica Insurance Company and Allstate Insurance Company. Moves to Salem, Oregon and back to Seattle solidified the family's preference for living in the Northwest.
A new job in an old place called Jim back to his Idaho roots. He spent most of his 20 years at Intermountain Gas Company in Boise as Vice President of Administrative Services and Personnel Director. While there he served as National Chairman of the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA). Frequent travel throughout the U.S. and to international conferences was part of the job.
After early retirement from IGC, Jim continued working in the field of Human Resources with Ameriban/IEC and through his adjunct professor work at Boise State University.
