Wilma Buckley Obituary

Cadwell - Wilma Blanche Buckley, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on the 8th of May, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Nampa, Idaho on October 31, 1939, to her devoted parents, Nellie and Bill Ketchum, Wilma lived a life characterized by selflessness and joy, leaving a legacy of warmth and kindness.

Wilma's journey through life was one marked by a deep commitment to the well-being of others, especially children. Her career as a substitute teacher and nanny allowed her to touch the lives of countless young individuals with her nurturing spirit. Wilma's gentle guidance and patient teaching left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those she cared for, shaping the future one child at a time.

In Caldwell, Idaho, where she passed away due to natural causes, Wilma was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Her beloved husband, George Buckley, stood by her side through life's many chapters, for 68 years. Together they raised a family rooted in love and mutual respect. Their daughter, Laura, and son, Joseph, along with her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Katie, Tara, Trisha, Joseph, Kody, Kieya, and Jacob, were the light of her life. Wilma's role as a matriarch was characterized by boundless love and support, and she was the cornerstone upon which family memories were built and treasured.

Wilma's passions extended beyond her professional work and into the realm of personal joys. She found solace and happiness in reading, with a book never far from her reach. Sewing was another pastime through which she expressed her creativity, crafting beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Her talents and interests were threads woven into the fabric of her community, leaving a colorful tapestry of memories.

Those who knew Wilma would describe her as the epitome of loving, selfless, and wise. She had a heart that knew no bounds and a soul that radiated kindness. Her wisdom was sought after by many, and she shared it generously, always with a gentle word and an open heart. Wilma's presence was a source of comfort and guidance, and her impact on the world will be felt for generations to come.

Wilma's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the time we were fortunate enough to share with her. Her spirit will continue to live on through the stories we tell, the lessons she taught us, and the love she instilled in our hearts.

The Buckley family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have been a part of Wilma's life. Your friendship, care, and love meant the world to her and to us. As we gather to honor her memory, we remember the joy, the laughter, and the unwavering love that defined Wilma's remarkable life.

Wilma will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, as we hold her memory close to our hearts. We take solace in knowing that she lived fully, loved deeply, and left this world a better place for her presence. Rest in peace, dear Wilma, until we meet again.
