Margaret Henry Fulwiler
POCATELLO - Margaret Henry Fulwiler, 92, of Pocatello, Idaho, died Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Center, Idaho Falls, under the care of hospice. Her husband, Andrew, preceded her in death last June.
Margaret was born June 30, 1914, in Hettinger, North Dakota, to James and Emma Kelly Henry. After the sudden death of her father when she was 4 years old, she moved to Pocatello with her mother, brothers and sisters. Margaret received her education in Pocatello at St. Joseph's School and graduated from Pocatello High School.
After high school she completed business school in Boise. She worked in Pocatello for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years. She lived briefly in Texas and in Boise. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
For many years Margaret looked after her mother, who lived with Margaret and Andy. In her retirement years, Margaret enjoyed working in her garden and reading. She volunteered often at St. Anthony's Hospital in Pocatello and for Congressman Richard Stallings. In her later years, when she could no longer volunteer physically, she adopted numerous charities and worthy causes, and took great delight in contributing to them.
Margaret is survived by one sister, Phoebe Anderson, formerly from Nampa, Idaho, but now residing in Bozeman, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Although Margaret and Andy had no children of their own, Margaret is survived by several nieces and nephews, with whom she was very close.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2007, at St. Joseph's Church in Pocatello, with funeral Mass offered by Fr. Justin Brady. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello.
