Benny Farmer Obituary
December 8, 1941 - June 13, 2021
Meridian, Idaho - Benny Dean Farmer of Meridian, Idaho, passed away of cancer on June 13, 2021 at the age of 79. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
Ben was born December 8, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and graduated from DeKalb High School (DeKalb, IL) in 1960. He attended Southern Illinois University, where he met his wife of 57 years, Mary Jo (Burch) Farmer.
Throughout his lifetime, Ben worked in sales of graphic arts and agricultural equipment but felt most at home farming in Wisconsin.
Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; daughter Laura, husband Greg Petrowich and their two children Maverick Petrowich and Sarah Petrowich; son Michael, wife Ronda Gates and their two children Addison Farmer and Marcus Farmer.
Ben Farmer will be interred at Fairview Memorial Gardens in DeKalb, Illinois at a future date.
Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

So sorry for your loss. Only knew Benny for about a month in Navy Boot Camp before he received a Medical Discharge but never forgot his name.

Dear Mary Jo and family...I think about you so often since our dear friend Ann's death..and now I heard about Ben's passing. Ann always updated me about Ben's health.. I am so very sorry. I met Ben a few times, and heard so much about both of you, and your incredible marriage. He was a wonderful, kind man. Blessings to you and your family.

Oh my God, Mary Jo! How awful to see this on Facebook! I knew he had been ill but still came as a shock. You know, next to you, how much I loved him.
