Dick & Betty Black,

April 30, 2006

Parents always hope that their children will be happy and successful in life. Although Randy's brain hemorraghe took him from us way too soon, we knew from the many people who came to the hospital, all the cards, flowers and calls that he had indeed been successful because he touched so many people in so many different walks of life. This truly overwhelmed us!! And since he always had a smile on his face (and usually drum sticks in his hands) we know he was also happy. He has left a huge hole in our hearts but, as the song says, "He can see clearly now and the sun will shine!! God Bless You Randy.

My brother, John and I had the pleasure of getting into trouble with our uncle when he lived with us in San Diego. He and I had always been close and we had such a great time those four years. I enjoyed all the times he reassured me that I would live through my teenage yrs. It was an incredible time to have him with us and I'm forever grateful to him for all his love and support. He was such a wonderful and positive person and I'll miss him forever.

Hi Dick and Betty:

This is Gene Hill writing from El Centro, California. I just wanted you to know of my thoughts and prayers with Randy's passing. I'm so sorry. Even though I did not know him well, I remember him for his youth and musicianship. I knew him through you (and the wonderful Cathedral music), and of course, through Margaret and Jerry and Nancy. Remember that we all send our love and prayers for your comfort - and that memories are forever. Gene Hill, Minister of Music, First/University Christian Church, Boise, Idaho 1981-90.

We are in Fla now and searched for Randy's page in guest book. We always knew him as Randy through FUMC in Boise. Randy brought so much pleasure to everyone at FUMC with his great drumming. Know he is filling heaven with this great sound and making everyone cheerful.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. I met all of you at a very young age as Betty worked with some of my family members at a music store. I remember Randy as being very sweet and kind. I can't even imagine what you are going through, but please know a lot of people have you in their thoughts. Sincerely,

Heide (Holsinger) Reichmuth

Judy Beeson was kind enough to email and let me know about Randy. I am so sad, but I also know that Randy will be celebrating, offering to play the drums for anyone and everyone, all the angels in heaven. I enjoyed so much the time we spent together as friends and fellow members of the Disciples in Denim, years ago when First Church was just starting its contemporary service. I lost touch with Randy when I moved away in 1998, but was delighted to hear he was married and happy. He deserved it and still does. Randy was one of a kind.

God Bless!

I met Randy many, many years ago when I went to church at Cathedral of the Rockies. At that time, Randy and I were both in junior high school. We met up again during high school; I went to Borah. I will always remember Randy as being a very nice, gentle soul.
