Timothy McCormick Obituary

My husband, best friend, and soul mate joined his recently deceased father, William, in heaven as a result of a tragic work-related accident on April 10, 2010. Timothy William McCormick, loving son, husband, and father was born in Boise, Idaho, on December 26, 1957. He was the youngest son of William and June McCormick. He was raised in Boise, attending St. Mary's School and Bishop Kelly, where he graduated in 1976. Tim married his high school sweetheart, Christy Denean McAfee, on September 10, 1977. He was blessed with four children, who were the love of his life: Derek (32), Nickolas (30), Danielle (24), and Natalee (20). Tim worked 32 years for Compton Transfer and Storage, at a job he was completely devoted to. Most of those years, he held the position of foreman. Tim participated in many youth-centered activities. He coached and volunteered in Y Ball, Hallisey Tournaments, and Ada County youth baseball, where he also served on the Board of Directors. An athlete himself, Tim took great joy in following his children's athletic endeavors at the high school and college levels. When his children later began coaching, he was their most ardent supporter. Tim was dedicated to making certain his children were well educated. His children all attended Bishop Kelly and went on to college. In addition to his work with youth, Tim enjoyed gardening, all sports activities, especially rooting on his favorite teams, the San Francisco Giants, Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame football. When Tim's father passed away, in September of 2007, he built an addition to his house so that he could provide the best possible care for his mother, June. While Tim had many positive attributes, his loyalty, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends will be his legacy. In addition to his wife and children, Tim is survived by his mother, June, his brother Eldon (Barbara), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, William. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 15, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with interment following at Dry Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bishop Kelly Athletic Endowment, 7009 Franklin Road, Boise, Idaho, 83709. Christy and Family. We were so saddened by Pam's call and remember your entire family fondly. Bryan often said he valued your friendship and support through his years of raising the boys. We always loved visiting with Dani and Nati when we came to Boise. Keep up the faith and be sustained by wonderful memories.

Dear McCormick family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this hard time. We are sorry to hear of Tim's passing. He was a good person to my husband, Codye (an employee of Comptons) and my husband always had good things to say about him. I met Tim once when he had to come help Saadi fix his flat tire and we had some laughs. He will be missed!
