Dr. Wayne Scott Rial

DR. WAYNE SCOTT RIAL
CENTRAL- Dr. Wayne Scott Rial, 83, a sixteen year resident of Central, SC, died on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
He is survived by his wife Bea of 54 years, a daughter Martina and grandson Mark (Austin, Texas), a son Daniel and granddaughter Kelda and grandson Corbin (Sandpoint, Idaho), and a daughter Carol and granddaughter Maya (New York City).
Mr. Rial was a U.S. Navy Veteran after serving almost seven years of naval service at the end of WWII and during the Korean War.
He graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology (Fort Wayne, Indiana) where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1954, a Master of Nuclear Engineering Degree from Cornell University (Ithaca, New York) in 1974, and a PhD in Biosystems Engineering at the age of 71 from Clemson University (Clemson, South Carolina) in 1999. He retired at age 75 after 45 years of engineering design work in industry and in university research His remains are to be interred at The Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tennessee.
