Kathryn Brown Finney

KANNAPOLIS - Kathryn Brown Finney, 82, died Thursday Nov. 12, 2009, at Transitional Health Care of Kannapolis. She had been ill for a long time. Mrs. Finney was born Oct. 14, 1927, in Iredell County to the late David Brown and the late Mary Goodman Brown. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Kannapolis. She was employed with Cannon Mills for 45 years retiring in 1989. She also loved to garden and to mow her yard with her riding mower. Mrs. Finney was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Finney in 1993. She is survived by two sons, Gene Finney and wife Alana and Tim Finney and wife Donna all of Kannapolis. One daughter Karen Clausen also of Kannapolis. Five Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild also survive. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 14, 2009, at Whitley's Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. James Matchett and Rev. Forbis Kevett. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. Visitation for Mrs. Finney will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday before the service.
