Wilson Henderson Sr.

Greenwood, SC- Wilson Henderson Sr. 84, of 128 Old Sample Street, widower of Teresa D. Henderson, departed this walk of life on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Wesley Commons Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Rev. Joe Henderson, and the late Curnelia Ross Henderson. Mr. Henderson was the owner of Henderson Barbershop, where he served as a Barber for the community for many years; a member of Second Damascus Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of the senior choir and usher board. He is preceded in death by a son, Wilson Henderson Jr., and a brother, Alexander Henderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Stephanie (Wilbert) Henderson Morton of Bradley, SC; four brothers, Joe D. (Barbara) Henderson and Marvin G. Henderson both of Greenwood, SC, John Wesley (Maggie) Henderson of Kingstree, SC, and Edward (Brenda) Henderson of Durham, NC; two sisters, Jannie Bell Mosley of Bradley, SC, and Emma McClinton of Due West, SC; a mother-in-law, Minnie Freeman of Columbia, SC; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Freeman-Evans of Columbia, SC; one daughter-in-law, Yvette Henderson of Chesapeake, VA; one granddaughter, Anjelica Henderson of Virginia Beach, VA; one goddaughter, Evette Gray of Greenwood, SC; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Second Damascus Baptist Church. Presiding will be Pastor Leroy Robinson. Officiating will be, Apostles Kevin and Jessie Simmons. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1:00-6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Please be mindful and practice social distancing and wear a mask.
