Ellen McCurdy Obituary
66, of Fishers, passed away peacefully in her home on September 6, 2017. She was born September 16, 1950 in Indianapolis to the late Gordon and Jane Abbott. Ellen was a 1968 graduate of North Central High School. While attending business school, she met and eventually married the love of her life, Frank McCurdy in 1972. Together, they had three girls and raised them in Fishers, IN. Ellen devoted her life to raising her children and being a homemaker.
She loved traveling, spending time in the sun; especially in Marco Island, playing the slots, and going to craft fairs. Anyone who knew Ellen would describe her as a sweet soul who always wanted to make others happy. There was never a thank you card unwritten or a birthday forgotten. There will be a huge void in many peoples' lives without her in it. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd., Fishers. A private graveside service will follow.
Left to honor Ellen and remember her love are daughters, Erica (Neal) Cherba and Kelly (Worthe) Holt; her grandchildren, Luna McCurdy, Michael, Avery and Andrew Cherba; as well as her sisters, Ruthann Hall and Leslie (Glen) Price. Ellen's husband of 44 years, Frank McCurdy; and daughter, Tracy McCurdy, preceded her in death.

I met Ellen when we attended Porter College. She became a dear friend and we were each others Maid of Honors when we married. We lost touch over the years, but recently reconnected when she became ill. A big piece of my heart is missing as I write this, but I know she is back with her sweet Frank. My heart goes out to Erica and Kelly and your families. You lost your Mom and Dad way too soon.
