Wanda Murphy Obituary
Wanda E. Murphy
73, of Fairland, passed away July 28, 2013. She was born July 8, 1940, to the late Leslie and Mary K. Phillips Wright. Wanda was a 1958 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and received her associate's degree from Indiana Business College. She married John Murphy February 27, 1965, and was employed with Moorfeed Corp. for 20 years, retiring as Office Manager in 2006. Wanda was a member of Acton United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed gardening, traveling, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel , 9606 E. Washington St. with funeral services Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John D. "Jack" Murphy; children, Angela A. Garrett (David), Timothy J. Murphy (Debra) and Leslie E. Valiant (Walter); grandchildren, Grand and Drew Valiant; siblings, Louise Kikendall (Edward), Ann Long (Marshall), Leslie H. Wright (Julie) and Daniel M. Wright (Rebecca).
A sister, Caroline J. Wright; and a brother, Gary W. Wright, preceded her in death.
