Barbara Alison Ponikiski

1946 - 2018

Barbara Alison Ponikiski passed away on May 19th from Stage 4 Breast Cancer. She was born on July 4th, 1946 to John K. Belknap and Mildred "Millie" Rodriguez in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1965, from there going to cosmetology school to become a hair dresser. She absolutely adored cosmetics, and with her talent as a beautician her family wonders how their hair will ever be the same. Barbara spent many years at Hairtech, and later in life, she spent 18 years at Elitch Gardens. Barbara met and married Robert A. Ponikiski, Sr. and together they filled their life with 2 sons, who Barbara loved unconditionally no matter what their issues might be. Barbara joins her father, John K. Belknap; mother, Mildred Rodriguez; husband, Robert Anthony Ponikiski, Sr.; son, Robert, Jr.; brother, John Belknap; family members, Dorothy, Mitchell, Josephen, Gracy, Frank, and Gorgia Belknap.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, son, Steven; grandchildren, Alison, Anthony, Bethany, Marvin, Mitchel, Tiger, Joe, Emily and Izzy; great-granddaughter, Annilesa; sister, Carol; brother, Jim; in laws, Michelle, Ed, Gary, Carolin, Chris, Niles, Tom, Christine, Pat and Patty; as well as her many beautiful nieces, nephews, close friends at Hairtech and Elitch Gardens, and other close friends.

A Rosary service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 7PM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31st at 11AM. Both services at Olinger Hampden Mortuary in Denver. Barbara will be laid to rest at 12PM on Thursday, May 31st at Olinger Hampden Cemetery.
