Charles Oles

Charles Daniel Oles, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away Thursday October 13th, 2011, from a long battle with cancer. He was 62. A native resident of Canton, Mass., Charlie attended Hemenway Elementary School and graduated from Canton High School. An army reservist during the Vietnam Era, Charlie entered a sales career and lived all over the country in Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana. Charlie loved to make people laugh; he always had a joke to share and would frequently laugh himself into a tether. He will be sorely missed. He was a loving brother and a great friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Grace Oles. He is survived by four brothers and nine sisters: Eugene Oles, Grace Kegresse, and Mary Jane Bisbee, all of Massachusetts; Kathleen Staunton, Joan Wilson, and Susan Oles, all of Oklahoma City, OK; Frank Allen of Florida; Edward Allen, Barbara Allen, and Michael Allen, all of Albuquerque, NM; Patti Allen and Jeannine Masters, of New Jersey; and Geraldine Pacheco of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his step-mother Mary Hayes of Albuquerque, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be said at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Parish in Canton on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011, at 11:00 am, with burial and reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center, thoracic cancer research, in Houston, Texas.
