EDWARD G. SR., age 82, of South Phila., died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 8, 2012. Loving father of Margie, Eddie Jr. (Nancy) and David (Laura); 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Survived by his brother, Tom; and sister, Margie Myers; many nieces and nephews.
Ed was a Korean War Veteran and was employed by Franklin Mint for many years. Also, he was a former Mummer and member of the Overbrook and Whitman String Bands in the 1940s and more recently the "Hardly Ables", a group of retired Mummers who entertain Seniors at Nursing Homes and other charitable functions. Ed was fluent on many musical instruments, in particular, the mandolin, harmonica, banjo and prided himself on his ability to play by ear. He could play you any song or tune after hearing it only once.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Thursday, 10:30 A.M., St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd., Broomall PA, where friends may call in Church from 9 to 10:15 A.M. Int. Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler PA. In lieu of flowers or Masses, donations can be made in his memory to Care Alternatives Hospice, 501 Office Center Dr., Suite 285, Ft. Washington PA 19034. Arr. Hi Dad! So wow 12 years already! Well now you have Aunt Marge over there with you all. I could hear you all now cracking yourselves up! Thanks for the 11 Pennies! You know what I mean!
As you can see I have immaturity down to a science. Looks like it´s going to stay that way! Well I´m sure you are young and handsome on the other side.
