McKENZIE


KENNETH July 25, 2007 of Abington, formerly of Northeast Philadelphia. Husband of the late Betty. Survived by a stepson Edward Fazakerley, a grandson James Fazakerley, and a granddaughter Sue Fazakerley. He was predeceased by a grandson Michael Fazakerley. Kenneth served in the US Army from June 1942 to November 1945 as a member of the 36th Division. He was an NCO in charge of a 12 man squad, and he received the Bronze Star for Bravery when he saved a group of soldiers while landing on the beach at Salerno, Italy. Kenneth worked as a carpenter for Local 1856 for 25 years, retiring in 1973 at the age of 55. He was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats. Relatives and friends invited to his Viewing Wed. 10 A.M. followed by his Funeral Service at 10:30 A.M. JOHN R. FREED FUNERAL HOME, 124 N. Easton Rd., Glenside 19038. Int. Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Knightswood Animal Hospital, 12121 Knights Road, Phila, PA. 19154. These donations will be used for the care of animals that people can no longer afford to care for.
