Pauline Baugh Obituary

Baugh Pauline "Polly" Smith (nee Brown) Age 90, of Wayne, PA, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024. She was born on December 21, 1933, in Worcester, MA, to the late Everett T. Brown and Priscilla S. Brown. Polly was a kind and sweet woman who was admired for her warm and friendly personality and wonderful smile. She graduated from the Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA. Happily married to her husband William S. Baugh in 1963, together they enjoyed music, art and travel. Polly dedicated much of her time to volunteering for the Paoli Hospital and CVIM - Community Volunteers in Medicine. An avid reader, Polly had an impressive library collection and enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly at her family home in Annisquam, MA, and with her husband at their home in Nags Head, NC. A lover of animals, Polly cherished her own pets, Daisy, Ginger, Molly, Chelsea and Emily. Polly is survived by nieces, Carol Carpenter, Diane Taylor, Jane Cere, Susan Stangl and Lauren Bak, nephews, David Smith, Jeffrey Carpenter, Fred Stangl and Ronald Henderson and numerous great-nieces, and great-nephews across the country. She was predeceased by her parents, her three older sisters, Mary Carpenter, Anne Stangl and Priscilla Henderson, her nephew, Everett T. Henderson and her husband, William S. Baugh, who passed away in 1981. A private service will be held in the Spring. Contributions in her memory can be made to Paoli Hospital and CVIM - Community Volunteers in Medicine. Arrg. Whoever wrote Polly's obit said exactly the right words. She was a quiet, dear person. We knew one another because our late husbands were partners of Miller Anderson & Sherrerd or MAS. Polly adored Bill, took wonderful care of him in his illness and also always loved those wonderful dogs. My present husband and I send our sympathy to her nieces and nephews. - Ellen Anderson
