WILLIAM J. JR. Retired Army Veteran of the Iraq War suddenly December 24, 2010. Devoted father of Issac Jacob and Steven Anthony. Beloved son of William J. Sr. and Caroline (nee Burns). Dear brother of Stacy, Carolyn, Samantha, Michael, and Caitlin. Grandson of Joseph and Yvonne Burns, the late Caroline and Edward Emberger and the late Harriet and James Miskell. Also survived by 3 nieces, Jordan, Kendall and Emma and one nephew Gavin. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewings Wed. eve 7 - 9 P.M. and Thurs., morning 9 - 10:15 A.M. BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 1428 E. Columbia Ave. (at Fkd. Ave.) followed by Funeral Mass Holy Name of Jesus Church, 11 A.M. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory to National Veterans Service Funds, P.O. Box 7001, Merri Field, VA 22116

Im still shocked by this horrible news... I'll miss our facebook IM's, you calling me out and making me laugh but most of all you calling me "SON" after everything you said. My prayers go out to the Miskell Family. This just proves God ONLY takes the best. Billy was a great guy with a big heart. When 1 yr old daughter broke her collar bone he arrived giving her a gift. He also helped watch her while i was giving birth to my son. Later he came to keep my company in the hospital and gave me nothing but laughs. He was a wonderful person and will be terribly missed.

It breaks my heart everyday knowing that I can't just walk over to see you and hang out we have some great times Bill and whenever we where both down we know that we could count on one other<33 I'm going to miss that most of all.. The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass.

The Solider squared his shoulders and said
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just to steep,
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
