Lynn Erickson Obituary
Lynn was born on Oct. 18, 1945 in West Branch to Neil and Blanche (Smith) Erickson. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 1969 and a Masters of Arts degree from Saginaw Valley State University. He was a retired teacher of 33 years and bus driver for seven years at the Whittemore-Prescott Area Schools.
Prior to teaching, he worked as a biologist for the U. S. Bureau of Commercial Fisheries in Ann Arbor, biologist /chemist for Dow Chemical Water Quality Testing Laboratory in Midland and field hand for Mackinaw Land & Cattle Company,
Lynn had many interests, he was president of the Burleigh Stardusters 4-H Horse Club, leader of 4-H Aquarium & Tropical Fish Club, Horse Barn supervisor of the Iosco County Fair, bee keeping, farming, hunting, fishing, Whittemore-Prescott Science Olympiad supervisor and coach, State of Michigan supervisor for Metric Estimation event, Ogemaw County Sheriff Deputy, crewmember on a commercial lobster fishing boat in Florida, scorekeeper for W-P wresting meets, soccer and pole vault coach, official for pole vault events at W-P school track meets and Michigan Renaissance Festival Security Team.
Lynn is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Angela (Dinkel) Erickson of Prescott; son, Ryan (Elisabeth) Erickson of Jeffersonville, Vt.; daughter, Dr. Tara (Robert Buhler) Erickson of Bluffdale, Utah; grandchildren, Neil and Micah Erickson and Jackson and Addison Buhler; brother, Glen (Jean) Erickson of Bay City; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Debra) Dinkel of Midland and Gordon (Sue) Dinkel of Brazelton, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Blanche; and a brother, Gary Erickson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 21 at the Richland Township Hall in Prescott at 4 p.m. with visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.

I know Lynn never remembered my name but I worked with him and his lovely wife Angie out at MRF. He was the sweetest man. So delightful. My heart breaks for Angie and the loss of such a gentle soul.
