Edward R. Gibson

Edward R Gibson Edward R Gibson, also known as "Fast Eddie" for his love of and his talent for playing the game of pool, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 in Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, Pa. Ed was born July 24th, 1943, raised in Ashland, Pa and moved to North Wales, Pa in 1956. He graduated from North Penn Senior High School in 1957. He had two sisters, Sally Gibson and Mary Gibson, who took their baby brother's love with them in their passing. When Ed married Cheri, he gained two daughters, Debbie and Linda of Pa. Through the years there would be two granddaughters, Erika and Summer; two grandsons, Jon and Steve and 4 great-grandchildren, Cassie, Savanna, Buddy, and Jacob. He had 4 daughters from a previous marriage. Ed worked at Merck & Co., Inc., West Point, Pa for over 30 years. He owned the Lansdale Drive-Thru Beverage Company for several years. He sold the business and continued to work at Merck until he retired at age 50. Ed and his wife, Cheri, moved to Hilton Head Island, SC in 1998. He loved walking the beach with their dogs, Candy, Emmy and Sam. He enjoyed going to Mickey's Pub to meet his friends and play pool. He loved to travel with Cheri. They traveled often to Europe, the Caribbean and the USA where Ed liked to hone his skill of cards. In 2009 Ed moved back to PA. However, Ed and Cheri remained close friends and he spent every January through March, as well as other times of the year, visiting Cheri, their dogs and his many friends on Hilton Head Island. Ed will be missed but remembered in the hearts of 6 daughters, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, Cheri and his many friends in SC and PA. Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015, 2PM, at Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, Pa 19446
