Alan Brown, 73
1950 - 2023
Lynn - Alan Brown, age 73, of Lynn, MA, passed away on September 25th 2023. He was the husband of Sophie (Kameroff) Brown, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Edgar and Constance Phyllis Brown. He was raised in Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn Vocational and Technical Institute. He also attended Berkley College of Music and received his Bachelor's Degree from Salem State College. He had lived in Lynn for the greater part of his life.
Alan served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Alaska and Michigan. He was the owner of North Shore Music Store and Big Al's Western Steer Jerky, and had also worked as a social worker. He was an accomplished musician and was the lead singer and frontman for Miles Beyond and Johnny & the Aces.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Kevin Brown of Lynn, MA, Ezra Brown of Boston, Melody Brown of South Portland, ME, and Jonathan Brown of Brooklyn, NY; his sisters, Christine Brown of Lynn, Karen Dunham of Wyoming, his brother, Jeffrey Brown of Lynn; his grandchildren; Hallelujah Brown of Brooklyn, NY, Leo Brown & Actionnel Humphrey of Brooklyn, NY, and Hazel Tomkins-Brown of Boston. He was the father of the late Keith Brown and Eddie Brown, and brother of the late Keno Brown, Kenneth "Link" Brown, Roy Dunham, and Sharon Smith. He was an uncle and great-uncle to scores of nieces and nephews in the Lynn area and beyond.
Service Information: His visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 10:30AM-12:30PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Those who prefer may make donations to The Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of Alan and his late son, Eddie Brown. www.mda.org/ways-to-give
