Well-known figure in Swampscott youth sportsNAPLES, Fla. - Bob Serino, 70, formerly of Swampscott, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday November 14, 2008 in Naples Florida. He was the husband of Virginia Serino and the son of the late Archie and Corine Serino.Bob was born in Lynn, MA and graduated Lynn Classical. Upon graduation Bob served two years in the Navy. After leaving the Navy he met his future wife Virginia and soon after married her. They were married for 48 loving years. Bob and Virginia moved to Swampscott soon after they were married. For the next 30 years Bob worked for General Electric, Lynn MA.Bob was a well known figure in Swampscott youth sports, coaching both Little League Baseball and Pop Warner football for more than 20 years. Bob was vibrant and loved life, the thing that mattered most to Bob was his wife, his 4 children and 8 grandchildren. He lived a life of weekly honeymoons with his wife Virginia, and was a wonderful dad, grandfather and friend to all his children and grandchildren. His generosity and selflessness were reflected in the time he spent with the youth sports programs and his family and friends.He will be sorely missed by his wife Virginia Serino of Naples Florida, his son Brian Serino and spouse Sheila of Danvers, daughter Lisa Costello and spouse Michael of Middleton, son Robert Serino Jr. and spouse Ellen of Swampscott, son Michael Serino and spouse Michelle of Swampscott. His grandchildren, Nicholas Serino, Anthony Serino, Tyler Costello, Michaela Costello, Lauren Serino, Julia Serino, Robert Serino III, and Callie Serino.Service Information: His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St (Rt 1A) Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 147 Humphrey St., Swampscott at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
